Doesn't the DAV get funds from the federal government? Contrary to popular belief, DAV receives no money or grants from the federal government. Our service programs are sustained by contributions such as yours.
Do DAV service programs overlap or duplicate government programs? No. DAV programs pick up and fill the void left by government agencies. This is especially true given government budget cut-backs which have made the need greater over the past several years.
Is my donation tax-deductible? Yes, the DAV is a tax-exempt organization, and all contributions are tax-deductible according to IRS regulations.

How much of my donation goes to help disabled veterans? In our last accounting year, 76.2% of all contributions were used for programs of service to disabled veterans and their families. While that figure already compares favorably with other national charities, we constantly strive to further increase efficiency and effectiveness in the use of the funds you entrust to the DAV.
Is DAV approved by watch dog agencies? DAV meets all standards and is approved by the leading consumer agency, the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance.
